ICOM Australia is supporting Briar with $5,000 to assist her to travel to institutions in Europe to explore best practice examples of museum management and to attend the 2024 Arts & Cultural Management Conference in Vienna in November this year.

ICOM Australia President Jessica Bridgfoot made the fellowship announcement at the recent AGM event in Melbourne on 17 May. “ICOM Australia also works to support, encourage and celebrate museum professionals throughout their career. We are pleased to offer a travel fellowship that supports the development of emerging art professionals through engagement with institutions abroad.”

Briar will research ‘Global Perspectives in Arts Management: Exploring Museum Commercial Strategies and Governance’. We look forward to supporting her endeavours and hearing about her overseas experience.
